This paper reports on a comparison of the position of the verb with respect to the negative marker in two Scandinavian languages, Faroese and Danish (with some additional data from Swedish); the data come from parallel translations of the same text. These data relate in particular to the question of whether or not modern Faroese has completely lost V movement to I.
