Current activities and interests

General Editor of Oxford Studies in the Evolution of Language,
a series published by Oxford University Press, jointly with Kathleen Gibson.
I make the tea and deal with the media for the
Research Unit in Language Evolution and Computation.

During January and February 2008, I was a Visiting Scholar at
UCLA Center for Behavior, Evolution, and Culture

(of The Symbolic Species)] Helping to organize the series of
International Conferences on the Evolution of Language.
Publications and research
In January 2008, Wendy Wilkins and I organized a symposium titled Language in the Light of Evolution at the Annual Meeting of the Linguistic Society of America. The event starred ourselves, plus Susan Goldin-Meadow, Ray Jackendoff, Salikoko Mufwene and Bart de Boer.
